A Barna.com article stated 42% of preachers had considered leaving the ministry in the last year. That same article listed: stress, loneliness or isolation, political divisions, adverse effects on family, lack of optimism, and conflict in vision for the church as the top six reasons for burnout among pastors. In 2021, a March poll from Gallup found that fewer than 47% of Americans say they belong to a church, synagogue, or mosque, down from more than 70% in 2000. In 2019, Lifeway Research showed that between 100 to 200 churches close weekly or 6,000 to 10,000 churches annually. There is a need.
Good Shepherd Baptist Missions desires to come along side of fellow laborers to encourage, edify, and equip them to have effective and abounding works for Christ’s glory. This is done by basing our teaching around four basic concepts in ministry:
F – Full Holy Spirit Control
L – Leadership
O – Organization
W – World Evangelism
We do not offer new ways to grow attendance and increase offerings but are calling men back to Biblical teaching. Seeking to grow in grace, to be addicted to the ministry, to intercede for others in prayer, to understand the will of God, and to be steadfast in doctrine. We desire only to be fellow helpers to the truth.
